When Stephanie deceives Tess into going with her to a masquerade party at Ludwig Castle, it proves disastrous  Dressed in an eighteenth-century low cut dress, Tess uses a fan to cover her voluptuous bosom. She looks firey, and her waist-long red hair quickly attracts Damien.  He mistakes her for a favorite wench. He carries her up the winding staircase to The Crimson Room and demands complete submission.

Stephanie had warned her not to remove her mask, or evil would befall her.
